S.O.T.M, Straight Out The MuDD, is a rising rapper and songwriter who grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey. Growing up on “The Hill” in Jersey City, S.O.T.M’s upbringing heavily influenced his music. He recalls the environment as being like a “jungle,” where he had to be on high alert to avoid getting involved in dangerous situations. Despite the challenges, he found solace in playing sports, including PAL football and baseball, and his older brother kept him on the straight and narrow. However, S.O.T.M also sought out new experiences and dabbled in various activities, which helped him to learn and grow as an artist.

Today, living in Philadelphia, S.O.T.M continues to navigate a challenging environment, but he has gained wisdom and experience that help him to stay focused and safe. He understands the importance of being aware of his surroundings and is always looking out for potential dangers. Through his music, S.O.T.M draws on his life experiences, sharing his unique perspective on the world with his fans.

His interest in music was sparked during his time in college when he joined the Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. As part of the fraternity, he helped organize probates, where he and his brothers showcased their talents through song-based greetings. One of S.O.T.M’s fraternity brothers, Austin, noticed his talent for remixing songs and suggested that he should try rapping. Initially, S.O.T.M was hesitant, but the encouragement from his friend sparked his interest. From there, S.O.T.M began writing music and honing his skills as a rapper. His early experiences remixing songs gave him a structure for creating his own music, and he continued to develop his craft from there.

S.O.T.M describes his rap style as “Bars For Any Occasion.” He prides himself on his ability to create compelling lyrics that can be paired with any beat or genre. His versatility and adaptability make him stand out as an artist. S.O.T.M does not limit himself to a specific style or sound but instead focuses on delivering high-quality lyrics that showcase his unique perspective and life experiences. His goal is to create music that resonates with a wide range of audiences and connects with people on a deep level.
